Whether you are wanting to achieve a personal best, target a specific medal, run a comfortable and enjoyable race, or attempt your first Comrades, Regenerate Health and Fitness Coaching will be with you every step on your Comrades journey.

Having run the Comrades many times, coached & guided numerous athletes over the past 10 years to Comrades completion I know that training for Comrades often entails juggling training with many other life commitments. Having a coach that takes into consideration the weekly hours and days you have available to train, the demands of the race, the required fitness adaptations, your goals and aspirations, as well as other unforeseen events that often happen along the way, can certainly improve your chances of obtaining your Comrades goal.

What you get from Regenerate Health and Fitness Comrades training is as follows:

  • Detailed training plan leading up to Comrades race day which is fully individualized to your current fitness/ability level and adapted along with changes in your fitness.
  • Every session is fully detailed with the intended aim, the duration / distance of the session, required pace &/or HR to aim for and training load of the session.
  • Weekly training cycle aim (base, build, recover, taper), estimated distance, training time and load is provided for all weeks leading up to Comrades.
  • Daily and weekly monitoring of (& adjustments to) your training load, including compliance with training prescription is provided.
  • Communicating with your coach on your training sessions
  • You further have full control of your training weeks with the ability to shuffle sessions around if planned or unforeseen life events happen that necessitate it.
  • Personalised alternative training sessions are provided for every training session (two weeks in advance) that provides the same physiological benefit at a similar training load. This is highly beneficial if you require diversity in your training, are short on time to train for a particular day, are feeling a bit fatigued (strong) hence requiring a slightly easier (harder) session or if you have a niggle/illness and caution (& wisdom) dictates an alternative session.
  • Appropriate strength and conditioning exercises fitting the demands of Comrades.
  • Race day tips, advice and pacing strategy.
  • Nutrition, hydration and race fueling advice.
  • Access to WhatsApp group for training advice, tips, support and motivation

 

Cost for the training is billed at a monthly rate (via Payfast) of R1,150 incl VAT.

COACH DAVE

Dave is the founder of Regenerate Health & Fitness coaching. He is a qualified health coach, which gives him unique insight and understanding in how lifestyle, nutrition and movement impacts running performance. Dave is a true believer that to excel in your running, you need to be healthy as well and brings a combination of world leading training science, data-driven analysis, experience, and passion to his coaching, as well as educating his athletes on the ‘why’ behind their training. Every athlete is a unique individual and as such this is reflected in the coaching Dave embraces with his athletes.

Dave is qualified in the Science and Application of High Intensity Interval Training, Maximum Aerobic Function (MAF) Foundations and Primal Health Coach Institute as well as completing the Training Essentials and Program Design for Endurance Running from Sports Science Institute of South Africa.
